8Th March: Free entry for women in all the Italian National Museums.

This year, as in the past, on International Women’s Day, all the National Museums will be open free for women.

A joyous occasion, which the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and of Tourism, under its Minister Dario Franceschini, celebrates, along with the free openings, a social media campaign and a special collection of images. You will see exceptional women whose fame across the centuries is known owing to art and culture.

Also for this initiative, the visitors are invited to go on a digital treasure hunt in the Italian Museums. Using a smartphone or camera, everyone can find women in paintings, sculptures and the decorative arts from various periods and collections.
Share your images using the hashtag #8marzoalmuseo, thereby disseminating the beauty of Italian art.
